New York Magazine rebranding concept

New York Magazine is an American biweekly magazine concerned with life, culture, politics, and style generally, and with a particular emphasis on New York City. Founded by Milton Glaser and Clay Felker in 1968 as a competitor to The New Yorker. Milton Glaser is one of the greatest American graphic designers. He designed the I ❤ NY logo, the Brooklyn Brewery logo and of course the New York Magazine logo. I imagined a new logo and identity created from Milton’s legacy. My objective was to make a remarkable logo while keeping the style. Using the identity fonts - Miller and Egyptienne - I managed to design a new face from the original elements. The intensified colours on the stationary designs and inside of the magazine refer to Milton’s first New York Magazine cover composition.
